Its funny when people talk about how terrible and gloomy January is. I personally think January is a terrific month for many reasons! First of all, I love the snow, and all of the fun things you can do in it! The only thing I don't really like is driving in it, but its not too bad as long as I'm not in too big of a hurry to get there :)
The kids have done some really fun things out in the snow. It was sad that we really didn't get any snow last year at all, so it was great when we had a nice big snowstorm which dumped about 8 inches of snow and also gave the school a legit snow day! (Not just an icky cancellation like we had a few weeks ago because it was nearly -30 degrees below 0 outside!
Here are some pictures of the kids playing out in the snow
This picture is funny, because if you look closely, you can see they're squeezing their eyes shut. It was really bright outside facing me, so they were having a hard time keeping their eyes open so I told them it was fine if they wanted to close their eyes and smile for the camera.
Hailee and her cutesie pose
Dallin on the sled trying to go down the little hill that Kyle made with the snow plow. (He wasn't too successful :)Having fun! This reminds me a lot of playing outside with my brother in the Winter when I was little.
Kyle had the great idea of hooking up the sled to the lawn mower to pull the kids back and forth in front of our house. It was pretty funny. It went super slow, and it was hilarious seeing the looks on the neighbor's faces driving down the road in the middle of winter on a lawn mower with a sled attached behind it.
There is a great sledding place by our house. Everyone calls it "the pit". I took the kids there a few days ago in the afternoon for some sledding. They had a lot of fun! Its funny because Dallin is the adventurous type and was having fun even falling off of the sled. Hailee, on the other hand, wasn't too sure about her first experience sledding. She didn't realize that falling off of the sled is a big part of sledding :)
Dallin went up and down the hill so many times- I can't believe how much energy that kid has!
I've also always had a special place in my heart for January, because it is my Birthday month :) I had a great 3rd 29th Birthday... haha. We went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse that night. Here are a few pictures of my attempts of getting decent pictures of us. As you can see, I failed miserably. haha
At least Owen cooperated for me :)
Hailee and I
So all in all, January has been a great month :) Here are just a few more random pictures:
Here is Hailee the princess all dressed up in her jewelry. She's so funny. She loves to dress up, change her shoes, get her hair done, and play with jewelry. She is definitely all girl. I love it!
I actually have a picture of myself like this when I was her age.
Our little Owen guy is getting so big! I love his little personality. He is such a mellow little guy and pretty easy to please. He's still a great sleeper. I love this age (5 months), and he's the cutest little thing! (I LOVE his HUGE eyes!)
