August Fun

I can't believe Summer is coming to an end! Summer always goes by way too fast, but at the same time, it is kinda nice for it to start cooling off and I LOVE Fall! Anyway, here are some pictures from all of the fun activities that we crammed into August.
This first set of pictures is from when we went to Bear Lake. I absolutely love that place. The beach is perfect for the kids, and the day we went the weather was absolutely perfect. The kids played on the beach all day and we had a blast!
Owen was so funny- the moment we got there, we sat him down on the beach a good 20 feet or so from the water. Well, Owen took off on his paralyzed-leg looking army crawl out to the water. It was so funny to watch! He was sliding on his belly leaving a snail trail clear to the water. He didn't even slow down when he got to the water. He kept crawling until the water was touching his chin! Funny little guy!
Dallin is such a little fish! He Loves to be out in the water. He swam around all day! Reminds me of me :)
Bear Lake was so much fun this year, I hope that we can make it an annual tradition every year!

This month Owen turned 1! I can't believe how time flies! He has gotten so big. He is such a joy to have in our family.
We had a party with family over, and it was kinda funny because Owen didn't really care too much about opening presents at the time, he was mostly interested in this plastic spoon. I guess that's kinda what you expect on your one year old's Birthday :)
Didn't quite know what to think about his Birthday cake...
 Still a bit unsure...
 Oh wait- that's pretty good!
 Yeah- that was REAL GOOD.
Time to wash off the little Smurf  :)
I'm so grateful for all of the family that came and showed their love to our little man. He received a lot of nice gifts!

Another fun thing we did this month was we went to the zoo with cousins Zach and Elsie! The kids had a great time, especially at the monkey part, there was a monkey that was having a great time showing off to us. The kids loved it!
Cute little Mama Lemur
 Donkey
 Lion
 Zebra
 Green Lion
Elsie was such a great little helper to Hailee, holding her hand walking with her everywhere. So cute!
Dallin and Zach at the Lion
 We had a great time!

Our next adventure took us to Mesa Falls and Floating the Warm River! It was a nice drive, and so beautiful!

 So precious!

Dallin was dying to be able to go inside the cabin visitor center
Next, off to float the Warm River!
We had a really nice time. We were going to take Owen with us, but at the last minute, my Mom called and asked if we would like her to take Owen for the day. It worked for us, because we didn't know how much he would care about floating or looking at the waterfalls. We did miss him- but I know he had a great time at Nana and Grandpa's.

These next few pictures might be a bit scary- they are of  the aftermath of our Color Run 5k that we did. It was pretty fun, as long as we didn't get the color powder in our eyes or mouth!
Scary rainbow-face afterward:
It was funny, I had no idea my sister Kathleen had signed up to do the color run with her work. I saw her there, and she ran most of the time with me. We had a fun time laughing and messing around :) My poor friend Amy- as you can see in the picture didn't want to get too close to the weirdos haha!
I photo-bombed Kathleen's employee picture. Do you see me in the background giving Kathleen rabbit ears?
Amy and I after the race
We had fun. There were a LOT of people there though, so it was pretty hard to even run the whole time trying to dodge in and out of people!

These last pictures are just some more random fun we've had throughout the month of August.
This first one is of Hailee and me shopping with my friend Becki. Fun!
A different shopping trip I went on with Hailee, she said, "Mom, look! My new best friend!" I turned and looked, and there she was with the mannequin- perfectly her size and headless! This was funny!
Here she is giving her new best friend a hug.
 ...and holding hands
These next two pictures I've been meaning to take for a while. Hailee actually did this the day we moved in. So- Dallin's bedroom has quite a bit of writing on the walls from the last occupant of the room (kind of a strange teenage girl), and it is on my list to give his room a good paint job to cover it all up SOON I might add. It just hasn't quite happened yet. Well anyway, I guess since Dallin had writing all over his walls, Hailee decided it would be okay to draw on her walls. They were such cute drawings of princesses it was hard to be mad :)
Dallin and Me being goofy- Especially him with his creepy talent for icky eyes!
Owen before his second haircut. Yes, second! This kid's hair grows so fast!
BEFORE:
AFTER: What a cute little boy! He's starting to not look so much like a baby!
One of the last days of Summer we had to sleep in. I just love the mornings laying in my bed with these little angels (before they've started fighting and having tantrums for the day :)
Our little day trip to Rexburg Rapids with the cousins. We had a lot of fun!
And last of all, our awesome little visit to the Idaho Falls temple and visitors center. What a great evening!
We had such a busy month! I wouldn't change a thing though. I love to help create fantastic memories for my kiddos. I love my family so much!
