September came and went fast! We were all back in school, including this little guy that started preschool!
We may have been in school, but we were able to make time to have some fun!
On Labor Day we went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. It was fun to see the animals and try some yummy food. The kids really liked seeing the different crafts and creations too. The older kids and I were brave enough to go on the giant ferris wheel and Owen rode a pirate ship. It was a fun, (crowded) day! Here are some pictures from our day. (going clockwise starting from the top left)
1. They had a giant fake horse that Owen was able to get on
2. Dallin and Hailee on the Ferris Wheel. (this was Hailee's very first time and she did awesome!)
3. Hailee pretending to eat the giant potato in Blackfoot at the Potato Museum
4. Owen riding a little pirate ship.
A week after the fair, we got to go to Spud Days! We played in the orchestra like we have for the past 7 or 8 years. It was a nice day for the parade and the free potatoes!
I wanted to be sure to get a picture in front of the giant potato on the truck. This guy has been traveling all around the country.
Here is our little orchestra
One special trip we got to take this month was to the Star Valley Temple Open House. The drive there and back was so beautiful with all the fall colors. It was a very cute little temple, and a really neat experience for the kids!
Here are some more random pictures from the month:
Shopping with Owen, and of course we had to get a picture with his face in the pumpkins
This cute girl is so independent she always wants to feed herself now.
Sometimes she ends up like this...
Or this...
She's just a cutie whatever she's doing...
Even after a day like this... (she had fallen off her trike, and it left a HUGE bump on her head) Poor little thing!
I had a bruise on my face this month too. (not nearly as bad as Laila's!) The last time we went boating, Hailee bonked heads with me and gave me a black eye. It wasn't too bad, but kind of embarrassing when I started school with one. At least I could wear makeup!
We've had some really rainy days this fall!
Cute little Owen face :)
Since Winter is coming, we've had several hobo sightings in the basement. Definitely nothing like it was when we first moved in, but more than I'm comfortable with, that's for sure. Even one hobo sighting is too much! Well, Hailee came running to me telling me there was a spider about to drop on her bed, and sure enough, when I went into her room, there was a spider dropping down slowly from the vent on his web string. So icky!! We definitely sprayed the basement and Hailee's vent like there was no tomorrow. And hopefully there wasn't any tomorrows for those spiders! We haven't seen many since, so that's a relief. Luckily Hailee is a good sport and it didn't phase her too much.
(She's posing for the camera in this picture :)
Snapchat fun with Owen and Laila haha!
Creepy much??This picture is evidence of the wrath of Hailee. She hit Dallin really hard and I could hear the loud slaps. We lifted up Dallin's shirt to see the damage, and sure enough he had little Hailee hand marks on his skin. And that was through his shirt! Dallin had been crying, but he started to laugh when I showed him a picture of his back.
Here are some cute pictures of Laila in Hailee's dress up shoes. The look of joy on her face dancing around in the light-up Elsa shoes was priceless!
I got new glasses this month. Here is a rare selfie of me in my new glasses. haha
Last of all, we went apple picking at the apple orchard. There weren't as many apples as last year, but it was fun- and yummy!
