Hey Hey, here's May!

May was a great month filled with some fantastic pictures and fun! These first pictures are of Hailee's little dance recital. She was so cute! She has been practicing all year and she did such a great job!
Here she is getting ready to go. She absolutely loves everything about getting dressed up. Especially the red lipstick :)
With her little dance class before the recital began (She's in the front second from left)
 Her little dances:
Footloose
Mambo #5 with Mickey Mouse characters
 Mission Impossible
What Did the Fox Say? (Right there in the middle staring right at us looking a little lost)
After the Fox song was over, she was a little sad because she wasn't quite sure what to do during that song. What a sweet little sad face
What a fantastic little program! She'll definitely do dance again! She loved it and was so cute!

Skipping forward now to our Memorial Day weekend. I was really hoping to do something fun, but not anything that cost too much. We are so blessed to live by all of our parents, and Kyle's Dad has a side by side that he let us use to go take a ride up Wolverine Canyon with the kids. We had a lot of fun! We have been really lucky this month to have some really beautiful weather. Luckily Memorial Day weekend was beautiful as well.
Here's Hailee when we first got there. See the cows in the distance? Haha they greated us when we got there :)
 Kiddos all ready to go
We stopped near the top to get out and eat our snacks. I love this pic!
 Dusty and windblown!
Hailee checking out the little creek
Dallin munching away on his chips and rootbeer
Owen having fun playing with the steering wheel (we were parked of course :)
Me and the kiddos before we were off again to go back home :) I promise Owen was having a good time, we just didn't catch him with a smile on his face
 ....and we're off again!
We stopped at the summit to take some pictures. I love this view! So fantastic!
Just a little bit of snow left over from the Winter
If you look closely, you can see Kyle holding Owen while Owen is point out all the things he sees. I thought this picture was so precious. Owen was pointing at the birds and trees, and counting.
We had a great time! Even though it was a shorter trip, it was beautiful scenery, and it was fantastic to get out and get some fresh air.

Earlier that weekend we had the opportunity to play in the orchestra at the Memorial Day event at Freeman Park. They had a lot of flags set up and they had some short programs through the weekend. I am grateful we had the opportunity to play some patriotic songs to help honor those who have fought and lost their lives for our country. Here are some pics of the kids with the flags afterward.
Hailee trying to reach one of the flags
My little artist Hailee drew a flag on Memorial Day. What a great job!

Other fun random stuff from the month:
Here are some pictures of when the Boise State Bronco football team came to Idaho Falls to visit. Kyle and Dallin went to check it out and get some pictures! Pretty awesome!

Cute little girls watching Frozen. Hailee and some of her little friends sharing a bench. An extra funny part of this picture is seeing Dallin so intently playing his video game haha
 What a handsome guy :)
Sitting under the tree at Nana and Grandpa's house reading a book. I can't believe how big he is getting!

Here's my little fashionista Hailee with her 6 headbands :)
Another cute little picture from Hailee the artist. Can you tell who this is? (hint: Tangled)
Here's our little accident story of the month, I was taking Dallin and Hailee over to the book fair after school one day. We were in a hurry because we only had a few minutes left before it was going to close. Dallin and Hailee went to run inside, but in the rush, Dallin threw open the big metal front door, and poor little Hailee's toe was in the way. The bottom corner of the door smashed her little toe and punched a hole right into her toenail. Ew! It was so bloody and icky! I ended up taking her to the doctor to have her toe checked out, and luckily, it was going to be alright without any stitches or any other procedures. She was so brave at the doctor! Anyway, she was supposed to take it easy for a few days, but that's kind of hard for a four-year-old :) Its been a few weeks now, and her toe is healing wonderfully! Thank goodness!
A few other extra things from the month- I found out I am not going to be teaching Summer School this year at South Fremont High School. The state cut their funding, so they weren't able to do it. I am actually pretty relieved. I really only ever did it to have the extra money but I pretty much hated every minute of it. Why did I do it for the past 6 years? I'm not too sure. I enjoyed the pay which was nice for only a month of work, but I'm more excited to have more time with my kiddos this Summer. Yay!
Another exciting thing for me this month is that I finally have my first smart phone! Yay! haha My phone was really having issues, so I knew I needed an upgrade. After shopping around, I was able to make a pretty frugal decision and find a great deal on a smart-phone and data plan. I always said I wasn't ever going to get a smart-phone, but I was able to get one for about the same amount that we were paying before :)
So that sums up our May! Yeah hey hey!
