July came and went so fast! We had a lot of fun!
Instead of going to watch the big Melaleuca fireworks in Idaho Falls this year, we lit fireworks off at Grandpa and Grandma Wright's house. We had just barely returned from our Washington trip at 3 am on July 4th, so we were pretty exhausted.
This was the first time that we allowed Dallin to help light off a few firecrackers this year. He loved
it. Maybe a little too much. haha
Just like last year, Owen was a little scaredy pants and wanted to stay inside. I coaxed him out a couple of times to watch a few fireworks.
What a beautiful sunset! We had fun throwing a few firecrackers in the ditch and watching the water explodeHere are some more boating pics from different trips this month. We are so blessed to live so close to a fun reservoir.
Surfing
Dallin on the tube
So proud of this little guy. Dallin learned how to kneeboard! He does great! I'm proud of his perseverance and he kept trying until he got it right!
So proud of this little guy too. He has kind of developed a fear of water, but he's starting to get more brave.
Owen and Hailee were even brave enough to go on the tube a few times!
I just love this little girl so much! She is such a trooper every time we go boating.

Here are some more pics from water fun this month. We tried out the new Ammon splash park. Not quite as fun as the Rexburg one, but the kids still had a good time especially since their cousins came to join them
Hailee and Elsie on the slide
Fun at the annual Wright reunion
On the train
And the giant slip and slide!
Elsie and Zach joined us this day too. Here is Laila's one and only time going down the slide on Elsie's lap. She didn't enjoy it so much.
They all had a lot of fun. It was a little chilly and windy, but I was proud of my kids for making the most of it! They definitely went the most times up and down out of everyone there.
Another trip to the splash park! This time we went to the Rexburg one. Its so fun because the kids can ride the carousel too.
Laila wasn't quite so sure at first
Owen had a good time playing with the tiny fountains
Dallin of course dives right in and doesn't come back until I have to tell him we are leaving
Hailee has fun and is a great big sister to help watch Owen and Laila. It took a while for Laila to decide she really liked playing in the little water fountains. She had a great time!
The kids practically lived in their swimming suits this Summer. Here they are playing outside in the kiddie pool with our neighbor, Aiden.
We also had the opportunity to go floating down the (not warm) Warm River up by Mack's Inn with Kyle's aunt and uncle, and brothers and parents. It was fun! It is so beautiful there, and we even saw some moose! Laila was such a trooper and zonked out in the bottom of the canoe during our float.
This guy turned 9 this month! Can you believe it! He is growing up so fast
Like every year, Dallin gets spoiled by all of his grandparents and aunts and uncles. Uncle Gary was up to visit so we had a fun party with him and his fun dogs you can see in his truck in the picture.
He then got to have another party at Nana and Grandpa's house. Wow!
We took a trip through Yellowstone. The kids had never been, and I hadn't been in years. We had fun!
Some of my favorite parts were the comments from Owen in front of the tourists about the poop water smell. haha
Dragon's Cave or something like that (can't remember the exact name) Pretty cool, but almost made me want to throw up because it smelled so bad!
There was a herd of buffalo hanging out on the roadway that backed up traffic for an hour. They were so close to the car!Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
"Bubbles" she says
Old Faithful. The kids were fascinated by the geysers and wondered how they were made. We had some discussions that Owen didn't really understand, but he did understand the part where we talked about how Jesus made them. It was so cute because as we were waiting for Old Faithful, it got pretty quiet and of course there were lots of tourists around, and Owen started talking in his really loud voice about how the geysers were made by Jesus. I loved how so many people commented on how precious that was. It really was so cute. What a blessing to know these things.
Here are some more random pics from the month. I love July!Cute Laila in her first sets of piggy tails
Playing on the swing set with Hailee
The kids thought this was hilarious so they took the pictures. I don't know exactly how it happened, but I think Dallin was laying on the floor and Laila came and plopped herself down on his face.Hailee wanted a turn too. haha
Hailee found a four leaf clover! (this is actually one of several that she has found this Summer)
Hailee selfie :)
Owen had his little friend over to play. They were playing Mario Kart, and afterwards I told them to ride trikes outside and pretend it was Mario Kart. I heard his friend mumble something about riding on the circle track and saw him head to the backyard. I got distracted so I didn't follow him until the neighbor called over to me a couple minutes later and told me to look in the backyard. I headed to the backyard to see his friend riding his trike on top of the trampoline. It was hilarious! I told him that probably wasn't a good idea and he got down. Too funny!
I took Dallin to get a haircut and this girl was in pure heaven. Her favorite thing is to mess with all my hair products in my drawers and cabinets. I love the look on her face in this picture
This little sweetie also dislocated her elbow this month. We're not sure how it happened exactly, but it might have been my fault. The kids were playing in the pool, and Laila proceeded to grab Owen's shoes (that weren't made for water) and she was going to dunk them in the pool. I hurried over and snatched them out of the water, but she was still attached to the shoe and I think that was the incident that dislocated her elbow. I noticed that she was really upset but I thought it was just because she was mad I took the shoe away. It wasn't until a little later when I noticed she was babying her arm and I didn't know why. I started to freak out a little because she was acting like she had when she broke her arm and I was worried she had broken her arm again. We took her to Redicare, and they did some x-rays and found out it was dislocated. They tried to set it, but couldn't and they told us to take her to a specialist in the morning. I called the specialist, but they said just to take her to the E.R. So that morning we were getting ready to go to the hospital and being really careful with Laila. Unfortunately, she lost her balance as she was leaning on the rocking chair, and fell down. I felt so bad for her because she landed pretty much on her face because she didn't want to use her arm to catch herself. I took her to the hospital, and as we were getting her checked in, I noticed that she was starting to use her arm again. It dawned on me that maybe her falling had set her own arm back in! Sure enough that was the case, and after a thorough examination, she was good to go! I thank Heavenly Father for the tender mercy that we didn't have to have her sedated and go through the miserable process of trying to set her arm.
